The Alfa Romeo 164S

I've successfully deluded myself into thinking that this could be a reasonable daily driver for me. Even if I decide to buy something "sensible" next time I go car shopping, mark my words, I will one day own the last Alfa sedan sold here. It's too awesome for me to not want.

If I was 30 years older...

This 1967 Ford Country Squire would have been my family car. I'm having a hard time deciding if I'd rather have this or an Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser.

The Lego Rubicon

I made this today. I made sure the truck's wheelbase, width, and body height were all relatively proportional to the outside diameter of the tires. The truck has the lego equivalent of solid axles front and rear; and I also included a small bumper, a tow hitch, and shifters for both the transmission and the transfer case.

The mock trail is pretty short, and includes a jagged staircase, if you will, at one end, and then a pretty smooth descent at the other end, with two staggered ramps in between them to provide suspension flex.

This is what I do when I'm bored.

Down on the Junkyard, Volume I

Welcome to the start of another running series that will occur every few months; which I shall call "Down on the Junkyard" because that's what it used to be called on Jalopnik, and I liked it. My junkyard of choice is the Ecology Pick-a-Part in Oceanside, California. Truth be told, the majority of the cars there were shitty old Big 3 sedans, but there were still some interesting sights.

I honestly had no idea what this was. It looked really neat though.

Zoom!

A Mazda Protege5 makes a lot of sense as my next car. They are readily available with the correct number of pedals, they handle awesomely, they probably get bitchin-sweet m-p-gizzies (compared to my 4runner anyway), and it has 5 doors! Craigslist investigation: engage.

After the sudden death of my computer, I am returned!

Rejoice!
